Originally established in Brisbane in 1999, today AIS’ Sale and Purchase Department the department is based in the Groups head office in Sydney with a broker also based in Brisbane.

AIS has today one of the largest Sale and Purchase departments in Australia with four full time brokers and one consultant who between them total more than 70 years experience specialising in Sale and Purchase gained from working both in Australia and around the world.

The spectrum of knowledge and deals concluded cover almost all sectors of shipping including the Offshore Market, Tugs and Barges, Workboats, High Speed Ferries, Cruise Vessels, Bulk Carriers, Tankers, Landing Craft and others.

With a client base and contact network that is worldwide it gives our brokers the ability to assist our clients whether they are looking to sell or to purchase tonnage in all markets. Our brokers take pride in guiding customers through the Sale and Purchase process from inspection through to handover including the drafting of sales contracts and other documentation. Our specialist knowledge and hands on approach regularly sees AIS appointed to act for various government agencies including a number of “Admiralty Marshal” Sales.

Due to our specialist market knowledge our brokers are also actively involved in a range of other activities in support of our customer including; chartering vessels on both Bareboat and Time Charter basis, towage fixtures, and vessel valuations.
