Originally established in Brisbane in 1999, today the department is based in the Groups head office in Sydney as well as Brisbane.

AIS today has one of the largest Sale and Purchase departments in Australia with three full time brokers and one consultant who between them have more than 70 years experience in Sale and Purchase gained from working in both Australia and in a number of the leading shipping centres around the world.

The spectrum of knowledge and deals concluded cover almost all sectors of shipping including the Offshore Market, Tugs and Barges, High speed ferries, Cruise vessels, Bulkcarriers, Tankers, Landing Craft etc.

With a client base and contact network that is worldwide it gives our brokers the ability to assist our clients whether they are looking to sell or to purchase tonnage in all markets. Added to which our brokers are able to guide you through the Sale and Purchase process from inspection through to handover including the drafting of sales contracts with the knowledge that our company are members of BIMCO.   

Additionally due to our specialist knowledge of offshore market our brokers are extensively involved in fixing vessels on both short and long term charters.
